It’s been a very busy 2 months, working out a healthy schedule to fit in my new business projects. Sooo… how is it already November? (Just a rhetorical question, peeps…)
I swear, there are days when I stare at my clock and ask, “Holy Fork… can the day go ANY slower? Sheesh!!” And all of a sudden, we’re close to ending 2014…?!???
Anyway, I did what I can to remain “present” on my social media sites so family & friends wouldn’t start suspecting that my lifeless, dried out body has been left out somewhere in the Nevada desert. And because I’ve been focusing on articles I write for my business, the thoughts and quotes I posted were naturally relevant to what I was writing about at that moment… which is usually about getting your life together, building your self confidence, owning your life… stuff like that.
Now here’s the kicker… people connected to me on those sites began assuming I was trying to “tell them” something.
Wait… something?
A few contacted me directly and *calmly* asked if a particular post was about them (which was cool because it allowed us to quickly clear this up)… but some turned to OTHERS feeling angry and hurt because apparently, they couldn’t believe I didn’t discuss this with them directly.
Hmmm… is that so?
- You just wasted energy on negativity that was totally unnecessary.
- Why not practice what you preach? Why didn’t you just come to me directly instead of getting another person involved?
Yes, I know it happens. Someone posts on Facebook and for one reason or another, you feel uncomfortable and can’t help but wonder if it was directed at you… but junk like that needs to be resolved or let go! I think we need to chill out and accept that not everyone’s world revolves around… US.
And maybe if something that’s been posted hits a nerve, well… maybe, just maybe, there are issues that needs your personal attention?
